Promethean PAC is urging all our supporters to call their Senators today, tomorrow, and through the weekend and in the days after to express their support for President-Elect Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. It’s urgent. The war mongers are trying to knock Hegseth out quickly through the concerted offensive of lies they have launched against him.
Trump nominated Hegseth because he knows that Hegseth will shake up the military industrial complex and implement Trump’s policy of ending forever wars. The very uni-party establishment that has promoted those wars, and profited handsomely from them, is engaged in an all out effort to sink Hegseth’s nomination and replace him with someone like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who would be more amenable to continuing the very warmongering policies that voters elected President Trump to stop.
Since he was nominated, Hegseth has been the target of scurrilous accusations of sexual misconduct, excessive drinking and financial mismanagement, all from anonymous sources, that were promoted by the anti-Trump media. Jane Mayer of the New Yorker is the lead journalist-operative in publishing this bilge. You might remember her as the fawning author of praise pieces for Christopher Steele, the MI6 spy who fabricated the Russia, Russia, Russia/Trump dossier. Not surprisingly, none of these allegations have been backed up by credible evidence and Hegseth and his colleagues, family and friends, vehemently deny them. These allegations are only levied to provide cover for warmongering anti-Trump Republican Senators who want to preempt the policies the voters elected Trump to carry out, like Senator Lindsey Graham.
On Wednesday, Hegseth and MAGA loyalists began to fight back. Instead of just complaining about media bias, Hegseth and his pro-Trump backers went public on X, Fox News, the Megyn Kelly Show and other media to lay out the case, that the issue with Hegseth’s nomination is not his personal history but his commitment to carrying out Trump’s agenda.
Meanwhile, Biden’s administration is doing everything it can to escalate its wars and setting a trap so that when Trump takes office he will be hampered in his ability to carry out the promise he made to end the war in Ukraine, bring peace to the Middle East, and bring the military industrial complex to heel.
We can’t let them get away with this. Hegseth must be confirmed and the Republican Senators that want to continue the forever wars and the gravy train of the military industrial complex must be taught a lesson now. Let them hear from us, 202-224-3121. Additionally, Senators have offices locally, in many cases throughout the state they represent. You can find them by visiting your Senator’s website.
