Real Warning to White House: What Just Happened in Texas?

The Republican establishment would rather lose the midterms than let President Trump's economic revolution succeed.

Feb. 5, 2026—That's the only explanation for what just happened in Texas Senate District 9—a seat President Trump one by 17 points, now flipped to a Democrat. Ron DeSantis calls it a "cause for concern." Lt. Governor Dan Patrick calls it a "wake-up call."

But what they won't tell you is a dirty little truth: Republican Party insiders who want Trump gone in 2028 are deliberately refusing to campaign on his revolutionary economic agenda. Paralyzing him with midterm loss is THE PLAN.

Promethean PAC is on the ground in Texas Senate District 9. We watched Republican official after Republican official refuse to even mention the President—let alone discuss his pro-working class economic policies that won him the White House.

But get this! Democrats are. Look at the Texas special election.

The contrast couldn't be starker. Compare the two candidates' websites:

Taylor Rehmet led with this: "His passion for fairness and dignity on the job led him to union organizing... He's spent his career fighting for better pay, safer workplaces, and a seat at the table for working Texans." He promised fully funded public schools, affordable housing, and putting workers first. His campaign walked the entire district door-to-door, adjusting their message to voter concerns. (taylorfortx.com)

Leigh Wambsganss  offered the tired Bush-era playbook: Second Amendment, pro-life, parental rights, "Soros money" warnings. Good social wedge issues—but nothing about raising working-class wages and productivity.  Nothing about the economic revolution Trump is building. (leighfortexas.com)

The result? Hispanics who shifted radically to Trump in 2024 abandoned her. New Trump voters stayed home. A Democrat union organizer swamped the Trump-endorsed candidate despite being outspent nearly 5-to-1.

Wambsganss’ campaign reported raising $2.6 million, almost two-thirds — $1.6 million — of which came from three of the most powerful and loaded groups in Texas GOP politics. Texans United for a Conservative Majority, started by West Texas oil billionaires Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks, gave her campaign nearly $603,000 — more than Rehmet’s entire campaign haul of some $570,000. The Texas Senate Leadership Fund, a PAC started by Patrick, who oversees the state Senate, added $463,250. And the influential tort reform group Texans For Lawsuit Reform PAC added $550,000.

Rehmet raised $570,000 total.

Money couldn't buy what the Republican refused to sell: Trump's economic message.

The Democrats Get It. Why Don't the Republicans?

The Center for American Progress—the top Democratic think tank—is now advising Democrats nationwide to adopt chunks of Trump's economic program. The Liberal Patriot has been singing this song for months. Taylor Rehmet followed that playbook perfectly. He talked about better pay, safer workplaces, affordable housing, vocational training, and fighting the fentanyl crisis with both enforcement AND recovery programs.

Sound familiar? It should. That's Trump's agenda—stolen by a Democrat because Republicans were too busy playing Chamber of Commerce politics.

President Trump's immigration enforcement isn't about culture wars. It's about protecting working-class wages from being undercut, stopping fentanyl from poisoning a generation, and rebuilding American productivity. His workforce upskilling programs are preparing Americans for the 21st-century economy he's building.

But the GOP old guard still worships at the altar of low wages and worker exploitation. They think voters will show up for abstract "conservative values" while their paychecks shrink and their kids overdose.

They won't.

WAKE UP, REPUBLICANS.

Voters aren't coming out for you. They're coming out for Trump—because his economy helps people and unites them. The Hispanic shift to Trump in 2024 happened because working families recognized a President fighting for their prosperity, not corporate donors.

If Republicans run 2026 campaigns on Bush-era talking points while Democrats steal Trump's economic message, the midterms are lost. And that's exactly what the anti-Trump establishment wants.

The 2026 Midterms Will Determine Whether Trump's Revolution Succeeds or Dies.

Help Us Fight for Trump's Economic Revolution

Promethean PAC is on the ground in Texas and across America, exposing the Republican establishment's betrayal of President Trump's pro-working class agenda. While party insiders hide behind social wedge issues, Promethean PAC is running a Midterm Bootcamp to ensure that organizers and candidates are carrying the message of President Trump's economic revolution to the American people.

The clock is ticking toward the 2026 midterms. Don't let the old guard sabotage Trump's mandate.
